Granta Presents Latest Composite Information Management Software and Support for Simulation at JEC World

07 March 2017

Granta Design will present its latest software technology, solutions for managing composite data, support for composite simulation, and tools to aid the qualification and specification of composites, at JEC World 2017 in Paris.

Granta says it supports the composites industry in sectors including Aerospace, Automotive, Defense, Sports Equipment, and Wind Technology. The GRANTA MI:Composites software package is the leading solution for the composite data management challenges faced in high-performance engineering enterprises. Grants explains this package supports rigorous, auditable composite qualification and equivalency processes – and integrated into the same system are leading reference data sources providing authoritative test and design data for composite materials.

According to Granta, it works closely with companies like Airbus Helicopters, Boeing, Honeywell Aerospace, Rolls-Royce, and NASA and as part of the Materials Data Management Consortium to manage mission-critical materials data. This knowledge is embodied in the GRANTA MI materials information management system and is applied in many engineering companies.

Case studies include RUAG Space, a leading independent supplier of products for the space industry in Europe, and Designworks, a BMW Group subsidiary that provides consultancy and design services. Both prioritise lightweight solutions. RUAG Space has created a single, reliable, company-wide source for all its materials data, using GRANTA MI, to capture proprietary data and external reference data. The key benefits are consistency and speed. Designworks has used GRANTA MI to manage and integrate company materials knowledge across several disciplines, and it also uses CES Selector to identify candidate materials for applications.
