Dow Presents Innovative VORAFUSE Epoxy Intermediates for Mass Production in Passenger Vehicles at JEC Paris 2017

Dow Automotive will present its latest innovation in composite solutions, VORAFUSE epoxy intermediates at JEC 2017.

Dow Automotive says that VORAFUSE enables tack free, room temperature, shelf stable pre-preg which can be handled, cut, stacked and pre-formed robotically. In the final compression moulding step, the prepreg is cured in approximately two minutes, leaving the remaining cycle time for tool movement, part ejection, and reloading the next pre-form – without requiring post cure.

In addition, it claims ultra-fast cure VORAFORCE for RTM and wet compression processes and wet compression applications will be featured, enabling moulding cycle times of less one minute. Dow says it will put a special focus on related joining technologies such as BETAMATE and BETAFORCE structural adhesives, rounding off the industry’s only integrated portfolio of resins, fibres and adhesives for mass reduction in mass production.
