NetComposites Ltd is an independent provider of expert services relating to polymer composite materials. Through our research, consultancy, training, information and conferencing services, we aim to develop innovative, commercially successful composite materials, whilst helping our clients and partners benefit from better materials, processes and business opportunities.
We are now looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Development Engineer to join our Research & Technology Team working on the next generation of composite materials and products.
The role will primarily encompass:
Developing innovative cost-effective composite materials and their associated processing techniques.
Management and delivery of practical technical tasks within research projects.
Contributing to the delivery of consultancy projects for our clients.
Production of prototype materials and parts.
Testing, validation and economic assessment of composite materials and applications.
Liaison with suppliers, collaborators and customers.
Preparation and presentation of technical reports.

A strong background in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
Hands-on experience with the production and testing of materials and/or components.
A practical approach to problem solving.
The ability to plan and execute work across multiple projects.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
The ability to communicate technical ideas clearly through both writing and presentations.
Desirable, but non-essential, skills and experience are as follows:
A higher degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
A background in thermoplastic polymers and/or composite materials.
A background in nanomaterials.
Previous experience in the delivery of project-based work.

NetComposites is located in Chesterfield, within a modern office and workshop environment. Chesterfield is a much sought-after location on the edge of the Peak District National Park, one of the most beautiful areas of the UK.
The salary will be in the range of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum depending on experience.
